Pelham Thomas, listed on our podcast in 2015 as the “Alabama Storyteller,” passed away this year on July 5th at the age of 98. He was a retired Professor of Mathematics at Western Carolina University and owned/operated Thomas Berry Farm in Cullowhee, and was a member of Cullowhee Baptist Church. He delivered Meals on Wheels for the Senior Center, played mandolin at local rest homes, and was an avid Scrabble player. We wanted to share one of his many stories in his honor for our July Stories of Mountain Folk. Godspeed, Pelham!
